3D rendering is the 3D computer graphics process of automatically converting 3D wire frame models into 2D images on a computer. 3D renders may include photo realistic effects or non-photo realistic rendering. 3D modeling (3d models) is basically the process of virtual recreation of an object, 3D rendering is more about taking pictures of a scene featuring an imported 3D model with photo real effects — camera setting, light, shadows, atmosphere, optical effects. In the easiest way to explain rendering is like photography, as we set up the real image before taking the picture and the photographer takes the picture. Rendering is mostly used in architectural designs, video games, and animated movies, simulators, TV special effects and design visualization. 3D rendering can also be used to present or market jewelry and furniture designs prior to production. There is some software that is used in rendering i.e. 3DS Max, Maya, Cinema 4D, Zbrush, Blender, V-Ray.
In the rendering process the 3D objects, buildings, landscapes and animated characters - artists need to create this scene by Modelling and Animating then the rendering is been set up for the final output to come.
3D renderings allows you to create renders of projects that are unavailable physically. This isn’t just economic and convenient. 3D renders allow you to study the design beforehand and understand how it would most likely look like in real life.
Rendering is been specialized hence it is been developed by two types of techniques: scanline rendering, ray tracing, or radiosity. Rendering may take from fractions of a second to days for a single image/frame.
Method:
There is only one term but we have different methods to describe the rendering method. In general, different methods are better suited are real-time rendering and pre-rendering.
Real-Time Rendering:
Real-Time Rendering is slowly creeping its way into the design industry. It is mostly used in the video games. Rendering is calculated and displayed in real-time, at rates of approximately 20 to 120 frames per second. Real-Time Rendering software may simulate such visual effects as lens flares, depth of field or motion blur. It is mostly focused high possible degree of photo realism at their rendering speed. The real-time rendering pipeline consists of three conceptual stages: the application stage, the geometry stage, and the rasterizing stage. We won’t go into details so much but nowadays real-time rendering is very common in video games. Whoever is more interested in working video games they are more familiar with real-time rendering. Real-time Rendering is often polygonal and aided by the computer's GPU.
Pre-Rendering:
In a Pre-Rendering the work is done very slowly as it is mostly featured in the film and video games. It is used when the primary goal is the quality, while the speed and movement are not important. Good examples of pre-renderers are Mental Ray, V-ray, RenderMan. Software renders make use of Ray Tracing. Ray tracing is a rendering technique for generating an image by tracing the path of light as pixels in an image plane and simulating the effects of its encounters with virtual objects. Pre-Rendering can be carried out on multi-core CPUs.
3D rendering is the last step in an animation process, it gives the final appearance to the models and animation with visual effects such as shading, texture-mapping, shadows, reflections, and motion blurs.
For the future rendering is an arc towards photorealism and games/real-time use tends to be roughly 10 years behind where the film is said that, there’s more than just rendering itself involved; physics & dynamics is equally important for proper immersion, topics like fluid simulations are still in their infancy for real-time use.
3D rendering gives you the complete control over outdoor and indoor lighting. 3D rendering also helps organizations maintain marketing and branding consistency over time. 3D renders facilitate clear communication and understanding by providing customers, clients, and other stakeholders with breathtaking 3D visualizations of every project and plan you share.
In times like these, we are constantly working towards the future to modify the design, by constantly evolving our software so as to ‘sell visions of the built-form to an inspired audience’. Our team uses V-Ray and corona as rendering our projects for films. We mostly render with V-Ray and for ArchViz it is the combination of V-Ray and Corona as per the requirement. Our company gives the best rendering output to make the clients feel good. We hope this blog might help you with a small description of rendering methods
ARCrenderings3D provides high quality rendering services for our clients across the globe. We believe that success begins with a sound vision. Our team of expert artists can capture that vision into a virtual reality. Photo-realistic 3d renderings and animations are the optimal marketing tools for communicating the finest details in your project to ensure a clear understanding of your vision. We pursue creative excellence with architects, interior designers, developers, and builders across the nation to create award-winning architectural renderings and illustrations.
